Nursery Helper
There are a lot of different ways to help out in the nursery both on Sunday mornings as well as throughout the week. It is a wonderful opportunity to help serve the very youngest in this Church and just the chance to put a smile on a child's face is the greatest reward you can have. Listed below are the ways that you can help get involved in the Nursery as a caregiver. Do not Waver, Serve the Savior!
Nursery Caregiver for Sunday Morning
Service time requirement - Once every two months, 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Skills needed - Work well with young children/infants.
Work in the nursery on Sunday mornings. You would need to arrive 15 minutes early. During that time you will play with, read to, cuddle with, and calm children as they arrive in the Nursery. Snacks can be given. Diapers may need changed. You would then need to help put away toys and clean the area before leaving.
Nursery Caregiver during the week (daytime and evenings)
Service time requirement - Varies, can be once a week or more.
Skills needed - Work well with young children/infants.
Currently there are opportunities to serve in the nursery on Tuesday nights, Thursday during the day and in the evening, Friday nights and for special events. The duties are the same as on Sunday morning but vary in time based on the event that is taking place. In all caregiver roles, there will always be multiple nursery servants working together to watch the children.
Nursery Welcome Desk Attendant
Service time requirement - Once every two months, 1 and a half hours
Skills needed - Good communication, friendly personality
The nursery welcome desk attendants will assist parents with nursery check in procedures while attending the desk during the 11:00 AM service. They will also assist caregivers in using the pager system if the parent is needed at anytime during the service.
Nursery Toy Cleaner
Service time requirement - 1 Saturday every two months. About 2-3 hours
Skills needed - We will train you in the proper sanitizing of the toys.
The nursery toy cleaners will sanitize the nursery toys on a rotation basis as well as wash the blankets and the sheets used in the Infant nursery, as well as return them to the nursery before Sunday morning.
Serving in the nursery is a great way for youth to have a volunteer job that looks good on their college resume or for a grandparent who's arms are aching to hold an infant. You would not have to be committed to helping every time but the more people we have the more we will be able to serve the needs of the children of Crossroads. Consider signing up below and use this way to Serve the Savior!
- note- Youth will need permission from parents and will have to fill out a form in order to serve. All caregivers will fill out a screening form prior to service the 1st time.
