#9 Single Mom's Day Away
The Latest divorce rate shows that approximately 50% of all marriages end in divorce. That is a very sobering statistic.
Crossroads UMC, in partnership with Evangelical Free Church in Bloomington is sponsoring a special day of pampering for single moms. We sill have time for these moms to fellowship, pray, and be treated to hair cuts, manicures, pedicures and massages. While the moms are being pampered, we are going to wash their cars.
Can you be available to help for one Saturday morning? It could make a life changing difference in the lives of these single moms and their children. We need over 80 servants to accomplish this project.
This event takes place Saturday, May 10th, from 9:00-noon, with servants needed from 8:30-12:30. Give four hours of your time to give a boost to someone struggling to deal with parenting alone. I am sure that many of you men our there have tuned this out thinking this is a "girl thing". Think about this however, many of these homes are sadly in need of male role models. If you could give us 4 hours to help with children's activities, you can be that Christian male role model for children longing for someone to show they care.
If you aren't available on May 10th or willing to help with more than just your time, you can sponsor a family for the event. We have room for only 75 moms and are looking for 75 persons or families to sponsor them. A sponsor gives a donation of $20 to supply a take home lunch for the families, gift cards and other surprises. Each sponsor will also be given the first names of the family their are sponsoring. You are asked to pray for that family and to write a note telling them that you are praying for them and their needs. The notes will be placed in the gift bags when our mothers leave.
If you know of a single mom that needs a day of pampering, the registration forms are also available on the sign up table. Do this immediately as we are limited in the spaces available.
Help us make this truly a day that these single moms can say they met Jesus and found out just how much he cares about them. Do not Waver, Serve the Savior!
Anyone wishing to participate in the event will need to pass a background check.
