Vacation Bible School
second full week of July
9:00-11:30
ages 3 ½ yrs. – 6th grade
Preschoolers must be 3 yrs. old by January 1 of this year
Kids register in the grade they just completed in school
This is a week of high-energy, fun-filled mornings learning about God’s love with songs, games, snacks, crafts and a Friday evening program and carnival!
Experience a day at VBS!
Opening:

All the kids will begin their morning together in the sanctuary singing and moving to high energy songs. They will be encouraged to listen for the “point of the day” that will be presented in the rest of their activities that day. During our opening session, one child’s name is drawn to win the “Gold Star” prize of the day. After opening, each class has their own schedule, but all will experience the following activities during the day.
Offering:
During our opening time we collect an offering. This money accumulates during the week and then our 5th & 6th graders use it to go “shopping” on Friday morning and purchase items to be donated to an organization helping children in need.
Craft time:

Each day kids will do a craft. These crafts will be sent home on Friday!
Snack time:

Kids will receive a nutritional and fun snack each morning.
Games:

Teachers offer a variety of game for the kids to play.
Some are outside water games and others are indoor games.
Bible Time:

Each class will have a time where they learn the bible story and apply it to their everyday life. The children will also hear and learn the story of how Jesus can bring us into a close, personal relationship with God.
Friday Evening program and carnival:
We conclude our week with a Friday evening program and carnival. Families are encouraged to come Friday evening for a program where they can experience the excitement the kids have been a part of all week. The kids will sing a few songs and then be dismissed to their classrooms, where their parents will join them to pick up their crafts from the week. Then everyone is invited outside for hot dogs, popcorn, lemonade and other goodies and fun carnival games.
