Welcome to Small Groups at Crossroads!

Small Groups are a unique ministry as they encompass all roads of the Grow Forward pathways of a disciple.

  •   Fellowship
  •   Outreach/Witnessing
  •   Read & Study God’s Word
  •   Worship
  •   Acts of Service
  •   Respond with Stewardship
  •   Discussion in Prayer

Connecting to a small group is vital to growing as a Christian. We are committed to nurturing genuine relationships; moving from guests, to friends, to family. It is for this reason that we offer small groups that meet throughout the week in a variety of settings. As part of this commitment, new groups form throughout the year through JUMP! activities and Alpha groups, as well as existing groups birthing new groups. We hope you'll take the time to explore opportunities for small groups that fit your needs.

Jump into a Small Group!

On Thursday May 1st, you are invited to come to Crossroads and jump into a small group.  Dinner starts at 6:00, childcare will be provided, and we will start our activities at 7:00 and be done by 8:30.  This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know other Christians at Crossroads and get connected to an existing or new group of friends at the Church.

After the activity, you will be able to choose what night and group format you would like to be a part of and we will connect you to that group.  There will be new small groups formed as well as leaders of existing groups that are looking to add members.  Take this opportunity to be part of the growing number of small groups here at Crossroads, and start making life long friendships.

#4 Small Group Leader

At Crossroads, we believe that being in a small group is a crucial part in our walk of Discipleship.  Small groups are a chance to connect with others through fellowship, study, prayer and service.  However, no small group can exist withou a leader, or team of leaders.  The Small Group Team will provide support, training and curriculum suggestions to you as well as help you find group members and a place to meet.

If you have a desire to lead a close family of Christians on their walk, consider becoming a small group leader.  The time commitment is up to you, and your rewards will be immeasurable.   Do Not Waver, Serve the Savior!

Frequrently Asked Questions about being a small group leader

What do other small group leaders do?

Many group leaders lead simply by asking a simple share question each week (something as simple as "how's your week" or something related to the topic).  You can choose the studies you want to do, but there are video studies that supply questions at the end, book studies that you can read together and discuss, workbook studies that you talk through, or even studies that you can do at home and send back.  The one you choose will determine how much preparation you need to make each week.  Some studies require very little preparation and others cna be complex, but that is up to you.

When and how often should we meet?

Again, it is up to you to decide when you would want to meet and how often.  There are groups in the Church that meet every week and others that meet once every two weeks or even once a month.  This is best decided by talking with your group and making a commitment with them.  Many small groups meet at homes (some at the leaders home, some rotate between homes each week), but there are a number of groups that meet at the Church throughout the week.  Some groups have a dinner or dessert every time they meet and some don't.  Some also provide child care either at home (where parents split the cost) or at Church (where it can be free in certain instances).  If you would like to meet at the Church, we can help you set up a room reservation for your planned meeting time.

How do we get members?

The Small Group's Team is committed to helping you find group members and connecting them to your group.  One of the ways we do this is through a "JUMP" activity.  We are having the next "JUMP" activity in late April or early May (after Alpha) in order to connect interest people with leaders.  You are welcome to make personal invitations to people as well.  Not all groups need to be the same age or makeup, and that again is up to you and your group.  Either way, we want to help you get started on your small group.

The Small Group's Team wants to help you get established in a small group.  We are willing to mentor you into a leadership position (either by having training events or having you come with us to some of our own groups and mentoring you over time).  If you feel that God is calling you to lead a small group, please fill out the form below or contact Joy Meachum for more information.  Take this opportunity today.
